This 5"x5" greeting card (blank inside) with envelope is for new mothers, great mothers, doubting mothers and rock-star mothers -- anyone who needs reassurance that their mamahood struggles and triumphs are universal.

It depicts Barbra in all her babehood beauty and the text: 'Barbra Streisand once said her greatest achievement was raising her son. So either a bajillion Grammys, Emmys, Oscars and Tonys are no biggie, or this motherhood thing is nothing to sneeze at."

"A mom is born" is a pen and ink illustration inspired by a 2011 Vanity Fair article where Barbra claimed that of all her achievements (which, to be exact is 8 Grammies, 5 Emmies, 2 Oscars and one Tony), she was most proud of raising her son. Here I was, lost in the chaos of new motherhood, feeling very overwhelmed and failing and tired -- and I was buoyed. I still think of this sentiment when I'm feeling less-than-sufficient and feel proud to be part of the motherhood tribe.
