We do accept returns. Just contact us within 3 days of receipt (14 days for EU buyers) and return to us within 30 days of receipt. The item must be shipped back to us with tracking & signature on delivery for proof of return. Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We highly recommend that insurance is also taken out. If a returned item is lost in transit and the buyer has not paid for insurance and signature on delivery then no refund will be given. Returns are not accepted on any items purchased on sale or on any item not returned in its original condition. A 10% re-stock fee will be charged on all returns. We do not accept returns due to rejection of customs/VAT charges. Original shipping costs are not refundable

Orders Marked as Gifts

If we receive an order marked as a gift, a copy of the cost breakdown will be omitted from inside the package. We are, however, still legally required to note the customs slip as "Merchandise" and disclose the full price of the item/s purchased. If the destination country requires a copy of an invoice to be provided this will also be provided. We do not offer gift wrapping services at this stage.

What Is Boulder Opal?

* Boulder Opal is found only in Queensland, Australia * This type of opal is found embedded in large hard boulders. The opal forms inside thin fissures and cracks in the rock and is generally quite thin which is why the host stone is left on the back of the opal. Due to their dark backing these opals have a dark body tone and tend to be very vibrant. * Boulder Opals can be identified by the layer of solid brown stone left on the back of the stone.

Small items may be a choking hazard. Please keep your opals out of reach of children.

What Does Solid Opal Mean?

A 'Solid Opal' refers to a stone where the opal is still naturally attached to the host rock in which it formed or is a piece of opal where the host stone has been removed entirely. Solid Opal is not to be confused with opal doublets or triplets which consist of a small slice of opal which has been artificially attached (glued) to a separate layer/s or with synthetic opals which are created in a lab.

Do you combine shipping & do you provide insurance?

We are happy to combine postage for multiple orders placed within a one week period (or longer by agreement). Please bear in mind that combining the postage on multiple orders may increase the likelihood of customs duties being payable as the full total value of the items purchased will be declared on the customs form. Insurance is NOT included in the shipping cost. If you wish to insure your order, please select the optional insurance at checkout.

Re-Stocking Fees On Returned Items

We do our very best to provide a full and accurate description of all our stones, including any flaws that we are aware of. It is imperative that the listing description is read in full PRIOR to purchasing an item. All returned items will incur a 10% re-stocking fee.

ABOUT THIS LISTING:

Amazing 22.2ct boulder opal mined in Winton, Queensland, Australia. This is a natural opal. We do not sell doublets, triplets or synthetic opals.

Please refer to the listing photographs for measurements of the stone in millimeters. Our opals are cut to follow the natural undulations so the base and/or the surface of the stone may not be perfectly flat and the depth does vary.

The photos have been taken with a macro lens which greatly enlarges the item to highlight the fine detail (and any flaws and/or imperfections) in the stone. Please enlarge and study the photos carefully as they form part of the description. Opal can look very different depending on the angle & lighting in which you view it. All our photos are taken outside in natural sunlight & shade. Please note that computer and phone screens all differ and may display the colours slightly differently.

IMPORT CUSTOMS DUTIES/VAT:

We are legally required to complete all customs declarations honestly. On ALL international orders the customs form will show the item/s as ‘Merchandise’ and the full purchase price will be declared.
