What's the difference between antique and vintage jewelry?

The terms “antique jewelry” and “vintage jewelry” are sometimes used interchangeably, but they have different meanings. Antique jewelry usually implies that a piece of jewelry is over 100 years old. When it comes to engagement rings, however, “antique” can mean the ring was made as far back as the early 1700s (during the Georgian Era) or as recently as the 1930s (during the Art Deco Era). Vintage jewelry is typically more modern jewelry, made as recently as 20 years ago.

This original Art Deco engagement ring, handcrafted in 18 Kt white gold - circa 1920's - sparkles mightily with a gorgeous GIA old european cut diamond weighing exactly .63 carat H color and Si1 clarity. This bright and shiny old european cut diamond is flanked by two natural sapphire baguette accents, all atop a wonderful filigree design. This ring is highly collectable and very hard to find. A gorgeous ring and in excellent condition. This vintage ring is easy to wear as it will not catch on materials due to the design.
