Matting is a colorful pressed paper board that is used to present and frame the print/art piece. It is backed with a sturdy foam board. Together they not only present the artwork well, but it helps keep it flat and protect it. Usually framers will use some kind of matting with the frame of choice. No, I do not allow "clean" digital files of my work out into the world (unless I have a license agreement for use). I deal with enough theft these days, and the abuse of clean files can happen far too easily.
