The shapes of these .999 fine silver hoops were inspired by two mirrors from 7th century China. The original mirror backs were ornately decorated but I think the shapes themselves make really beautiful hoops. I used silver precious metal clay to make each hoop. I textured the larger hoop, which is about 2 inches across, for added character and decoration. Then I oxidized it which makes the texture look almost like lace. There is basically no texture on the smaller hoop, which is about 1 and 1/4 inches across, for a nice contrast to the larger hoop. I used black greek leather cord to connect the two hoops. The length of the necklace is about 18 inches. The leather cord closes with sterling silver crimp ends and a sterling silver s-hook.
