Inspired by the classic hoodie, this pull over hoodie is a perfect capsule wardrobe piece. The pattern is an oversized cropped fit, and with easy modifications provided in this booklet, the hoodie can be made at any length. Features include an option for a front pocket and options for exposed or concealed finished edges. This design can be unisex, however some modifications may be required.

This pattern is mostly paperless. As a low waste design, based off the industry standard, a template is provided and intended to be drawn directly onto the fabric. No paper pattern is provided with exception to the neck opening and hood. If you are new to zero and waste sewing, this will be different than a typical paper sewing pattern. Instructions are provided and walk you through this process. Items you’ll need include a yard stick and fabric chalk or pen to transcribe the pattern onto the fabric.

The garment construction requires advanced beginner skills for working with stretch fabrics. Additionally, the exposed edge option recommends an overlock machine and experience with adjusting tensions to ensure a clean look. Note that an overlock is not required to make the Hoodie.

The Hoodie is a low waste design. While the design is not 100% zero waste, it pushes the boundaries to be as low waste as possible. Some sizes will produce less waste than others. The overall goal of the design is to make a conscious effort to reduce fabric waste whenever possible.

This pattern is a little bit more complicated than other patterns you’ll find because you have to follow the measurements really closely. There’s a few errors I made that I’ll fix when I make this again but it’s just trial and error. I think it turned out really nicely and I will most definitely be making another one. For beginners this pattern is difficult so I would say to not start with this as your first hoodie pattern.
