This project can be completed as an adventurous or confident beginner sewer with basic skills in machine sewing. The tutorial includes detailed, clear written instructions paired with photos.

MATERIALS:

-12 x 24 inches (30 x 60 cm) of woven fabric such as cotton or linen for lining of the bag
-9 x 24 inches (23 x 60 cm) of woven fabric such as cotton or linen for the house
-9 x 24 inches (23 x 60 cm) of light weight fusible interfacing
-scraps of fabric for windows, door, roof of house, and casing
-thread for all fabrics
-60 inches (152 cm) string, macrame rope, or shoestring
-small button for doorknob

Woven fabric such as, cotton, muslin, or linen will work best for this project.

TOOLS:

-sewing machine
-scissors
-embroidery needle
-measuring tape
-washable fabric pen
-straight edge or ruler
-iron
-pins
-(optional) pinking shears

SIZE:
The finished bag will measure approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide and 9 inches (23 cm) tall.
