    Wrapped in colourful tissue and then depending on size will either be sent in a brown kraft gift box or in kraft paper finished with a ribbon.

A striking Aso-oke fabric in a combination of black and white stripes.

Aso-Oke (pronounced ah-SHOW-kay) is short for Aso Ilu Oke which means clothes from the up-country. It is also sometimes refereed to as Aso-Ofi. It is a hand woven cloth made mostly by the Yoruba tribe of south west Nigeria. It is of a similar tradition to Kente cloth from Ghana. It is woven in strips and these strips are sewn together to make clothing.

It is a thick fabric which is similar in texture to denim or canvas. The width of the strip is 6 3/4 inches (17 cm). It makes a great fabric choice for home furnishings, cushions, upholstery, bags and much more. You can cut and sew together the strips for your own specific needs. Use pinking shears and cut across the width of the material. Avoid cutting along the length of the material as the weave will unravel.

This fabric is sold by the metre and you can order the length of the fabric strip you require from the drop-down list. Your fabric will be sent as one continuous length.

Kindly note that if you are purchasing this for a traditional/Nigerian wedding outfit (pele and gele), you will have to sew the strips together yourself. The fabric is sold as strips not the finished item.
