The Begonia Rex, also known as the “Painted Leaf Begonia,” is a stunning foliage plant prized for its bold, vibrant leaves. The leaves come in a dazzling array of colors, including deep reds, purples, silvers, and greens, often with striking patterns and textures. Compact and bushy, it makes a beautiful statement as an indoor houseplant or a shaded outdoor container plant in warmer climates.

Shipping to Canada:
If you are ordering from Canada and choose regular mail, please be aware that delivery can take up to 17 days. During this time, plants may be exposed to conditions that can affect their health.
We strongly recommend selecting a faster shipping service to ensure your plant arrives in good condition. We are not responsible for damage to plants shipped via regular mail.

Care Instructions:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while low light can dull their vivid colors.
• Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly before watering. Avoid letting water sit on the leaves, as this can cause spotting.
• Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (above 50%), making it ideal for bathrooms or kitchens. You can also use a humidifier or place a tray of water and pebbles nearby.
• Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 60-75°F (16-24°C). Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 55°F (13°C), as it can damage the plant.
• Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. A blend formulated for African violets or tropical plants works well.
• Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring to early fall) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer at half strength.

Note:
If you’re shipping or ordering a Begonia Rex to a colder state, consider purchasing a heat pack to protect the plant from temperature shock during transit. These tropical beauties are sensitive to cold and may not survive exposure to freezing conditions. Additionally, some shipping damage is inevitable, such as minor leaf curling, browning, or shedding. With proper care, the plant will recover and continue to thrive.
