Utterly stunning, antique, French, Louis XVI style, hallmarked, silver plated, solid bronze serving tray. Circa late 1800's / early 1900's

Hallmarked "METAL ARGENTÉ" and "40 G", this utterly gorgeous, high quality, antique piece would have been used on a console table or dining table for displaying and serving drinks, "high tea" and hors d'oeuvres. The tray has wonderful, high quality detailing in its borders and handles, which depict acanthus leaves and floral themes. The beautiful hallmarked silver-plate is largely complete, however, there are areas where it has worn through over time, showing the wonderful bronze base metal underneath and giving it an incredible patination and age. The tray does have natural age related tarnishing which only goes to highlight the age and quality of the piece. An exceptional, beautiful and rare addition to any home.
