Highlights
Alrighty! We've a beautiful Japanese Kyusu teapot made from cast iron. It is turquoise with golden butterfly relief. It is hefty and weathered; we have not attempted to polish or restore it as the vintage look is endearing! Inside the pot is a tea strainer (new) and can be removed for cleaning. The handle is not cast iron (more so a heavy plastic). This tea pot has definitely been used! The bottom has the tell tale signs of use on a burner. This is a gorgeous antique for either shelf, display decor OR actual use.
- 3lb 10.3oz (heavy!)
- 9in (from spout to back) x 7.5in wide x 3.5in tall (not counting handle when upright)
- Matte Turquoise with shiny golden/bronze butterflies
- Exterior is relief style (not flat painted designs)
- Used, certainly used to make tea
- Tea strainer fits well and is new (unused)
- Handle is a hard, thick, high quality plastic and well affixed to the pot
- Exterior condition is definitely vintage with wear and patina but no damage
- Interior condition is excellent, no chipping or flaking
