KNITTING PATTERN for MANS CABLE KNIT HAT- KNIT in the ROUND or KNIT STRAIGHT
Inish Mor- "the Big island"- is the largest of the "Aran Islands" located off the west coast of Ireland. The islands are the most westerly points in Europe ...next stop is New York.These islands are the home of the beautiful Aran knitwear, and the traditional patterns used in the sweaters and knitwear worn by the local fishermen, and their families. The islands remain beautiful and unspoilt, covered in rich green fields, separated by grey dry stone walls and surrounded by the deep blues of the Atlantic ocean.In this hat I used a thick, cabled pattern reflecting the cabled ropes used by fishermen, and a tweedy brown colour which reflects the beautiful landscape. The hat looks beautiful in any color, either a plain solid color or a variegated mixed color combination.
The yarn is 100% pure Irish wool, but you can knit this beanie in wool-free or wool-mix yarns also. It is cosy and warm to wear, and the basic beanie style hat suits everyone

The hat is knit in the round , on circular needles, finished with double-pointed needles. It can also be knit on straight needles . The instructions are given for both methods.
You can use either Double knit yarn (yarn weight 3), or Aran/Medium/Worsted weight yarn
( yarn weight 4) ; instructions are given for both yarn weights. It is an intermediate level knit .

Sadly the pattern did not give an amount of yarn for the project. I messaged the seller inquiring, what I got back was a canned solicitation - thank you for the order please buy more. Dissappointed in what might have been a nice project

I never received ANY contact from this buyer.The pattern clearly states the amount of yarn needed both in grams and ounces.It is the first line of every pattern I write.I did not send any response to this person, as she never contacted me directly. What I DID send was a "thank you" message with a coupon for 20% off next purchase, which I send to all my customers.It is NOT a "solicitation"-it is a gesture of gratitude for supporting a small independent creator/designer and for shopping with me. I DID email this person with a full response to this feedback and asked her to reconsider her review in light of the FACTS.I never received any response.It's such a shame in these troubled times that some people still have so little to worry about that they can waste precious time and energy on such negativity and nastiness
