Most blades are rusted.
Some blades can be used as they are, but please purchase them with the assumption that they will require sharpening and tuning before use.

Each tool is mostly 9.8 - 11.8 in (25 - 30 cm) long.
Most blades are around 2.0 in (5.0 cm) wide.

🔧 Blade Configuration Options
This listing allows you to choose from three options
: With Chipbreaker (double-blade kanna)
: No Chipbreaker (single-blade kanna)
: Mouth Crack (Mouth Crack, Chipbreaker Random)

Please note:
"No chipbreaker" does not indicate a missing part. These planes were originally designed without a chipbreaker.
You can distinguish them by the absence of a retaining bar and holes for attaching a chipbreaker.

⚠️ CRACKED MOUTH OPTION - REQUIRES REPAIR ⚠️
The "Mouth Crack / CB Rnd" option is offered at a reduced price due to a visible crack in the wooden body near the mouth (blade opening).
This plane cannot be used immediately and requires necessary wood repair (gluing, clamping, etc.) before tuning and sharpening.
The crack is visible in the provided photos (example: "Cracked Mouth" image).
It is NOT a complete break, but a repairable split. Please only purchase this option if you are prepared to restore the tool yourself.

📚 About Chipbreakers
In traditional Japanese woodworking, the chipbreaker plays an important role in improving the finish of a cut.
The double-blade kanna, which includes a chipbreaker, helps to reduce tear-out--especially on hardwoods--and offers a smoother shaving experience.

On the other hand, the single-blade kanna, a simpler configuration, is lighter and often favored by those who prefer direct control and fine tuning of the cutting edge. These are often used for softer woods or fine finishing work.

Both types have long histories in Japanese carpentry, and your choice will depend on your preferred style of planing and the type of material you are working with.
