Highlights
This is an incredibly beautiful 1890s edition of the poetical works of Ralph Waldo Emerson. The book is in good condition for its antique age. It has 22 karat gold edging.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, who went by his middle name Waldo, was an American essayist, lecturer, philosopher, minister, abolitionist, and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century.
This book is in good condition for its age, but his been discounted for some issues, noted below. No writing, no water damage. Boards are straight, with shelf wear - bumped corners, some small scratches, staining on front and back, etc. Binding is tight, except for one section of about 10 pages that are detached at just the bottom (a loose binding thread in one place). See pictures. Has embossed mark of previous owner on an early page - see first picture.
