Stunning brooch.
This brooch looks like a Czech piece. But I actually think it’s West German and made in the 1950s. It has an early roll over closure found on brooches from this era.
Rich deep gold tone metal form this brooch. The metal is really bright and has a great shine to it.
Great detail to the top half. Gold tone decoration with small French Jet stones at each point. These are all faceted and in a cabochon setting with saw tooth serated edges. Then four other smaller French Jet stones form a border around the large Oval French Jet stone set in the centre. All of the stones are gorgeous, original and faceted to catch the light. Particularly the large centre stone. It’s very well cut and solid and is set high in it’s cabochon setting.
Hanging from the top area is a lovely gold tone chain with nice decorative links. The round stones decorate this and all are faceted. A single oval large faceted stone sits centre and hangs from a secure loop. All of the stones here are French Jet too.
The reverse is beautifully decorated and it has a firm pin and roll over closure. Lots of movement with this brooch, it dangles!
Measures approximately 1 1/2 inches wide at widest point and approximately 3 inches long. It’s a really solid and weighty brooch. Very well made piece, However, there is no signature.
Condition is very very good. This brooch appears unworn. The goldtone is crisp,and rich and bright. No tarnishing or dark marks or colour changes. All of the stones are clean and no chips or scratches. All in place and all original. Closes securely and firmly.
Will be cleaned and ready to wear before shipping.
I pack extremely securely and ship with Royal Mail tracked delivery.
