This beautiful Edelweiss cigarette case features a dimensional golden brass-tone Edelweiss flower and stem set against an ornate silver-colored metal case with intricate floral etching. I especially love the contrast of the warm golden flower against the cool silver background.

The Edelweiss is one of the most beloved symbols of the Alps and is closely associated with Switzerland, Austria and the Alpine regions of Germany. Its name comes from the German words edel, meaning noble, and weiß, meaning white. In European folklore, Edelweiss became a romantic symbol of love, courage and devotion. According to tradition, a man might brave steep and dangerous mountain terrain to gather the elusive flower for his beloved—quite an impressive declaration of love!
Today, Edelweiss remains a beautiful symbol of Alpine heritage, strength, loyalty and enduring love.
