Hi, welcome to my custom lid listing. Ready for a lid that actually fits and lasts? I custom-cut high-quality polycarbonate sheets to your exact specifications.

Here's the deal: I'm a cutter, not a mind-reader. A simple sketch gets you a fast and accurate quote. I literally trace your drawing onto the polycarbonate, so the better the sketch, the better the lid (and the faster we can get started!).

Before buying, please send me a picture or drawing of your design that MUST include the following:

• 📏 Overall Length and Width: To the nearest 1/16" (yes, I need that much precision!).

• 🖼️ Material Type: Clearly state "Twin Wall" or "Clear" (see options below).

• 🔗 Hinge Locations: Mark exactly where you want the hinges (if any).

• ✋ Handle Type: State your choice of Crystal, Hooked, or 1" Drill Hole.

• ✂️ Cutouts & Slots: Clearly indicate all filter cutouts, slots, or holes with precise measurements for location and size.

Materials: Choose Your Material
There are 2 material variations to choose from:

1. 1/4” Twin Wall Polycarbonate (visible lines): A more affordable, lightweight option with fantastic insulating properties. Great for keeping heat in!

2. 3/16” Clear Polycarbonate (transparent like glass): A little more expensive, heavier, and stronger. It gives you that sleek, glass-like WOW factor.

My hinges measure 1 3/4" length by 1 3/8" width. The hinges have self adhesive tape on it. Peel off the red backing and attach it in position.

FAQ:
How to measure your lid on a rimmed aquarium?
Answer:
Take a tape measure and extend from one end of the lip to the other end where the lid would sit on the rimmed tank. Take the measurement to the closest 1/16". My cuts have some variation of about 1/16" so the more accurate, the better. Do both length and width measurements.

Why would I buy your more expensive lid and not buy the Aqueon Glass Aquarium Lid for $30 on Amazon?
Answer:
I have an Aqueon lid and it is barely usable. The 20 gallon high glass lid does not fit the entire top of the aquarium. To get around this, Aqueon includes a plastic piece that clips onto the back of the lid so room for a hang-on-the-back filter can be put in. This plastic piece does not look good and sometimes cannot hold the weight of the lid. Also the hinged part is made of flexible plastic which wears out, cracks and tears off after time from constant opening and closing. My hinge on the Aqueon lid is barely hanging on, will probably be replace with one of mine.

Does the 3/16" Clear polycarbonate lid scratch easily?
Answer:
YES, it does scratch easily! Only use a soft cloth or sponge and mild soap and water to clean.

Should I choose the Twin Wall lid or the Clear lid?
Answer:
If price is an issue, the Twin Wall. If you want the best for your tank and want that WOW factor, go for the Clear polycarbonate.

Do the lids cut down on the light transmission for the live plants and fish in the aquarium?
Answer:
Clear polycarbonate is one of the most transparent of plastics. A visible light transmission of approximately 85-88%. Twin Wall is 80-85%.

Can you drill other holes in the lid?
Answer:
Yes, I have drill bits ranging from 1/16" to 2 1/8” in diameter

Can you cut slots in the lid?
Answer:
Yes I can cut slots.

How much do custom lids cost?
Answer:
Prices vary based on the material, amount/ difficulty of cuts, boxing difficulties, time, equipment used, etc.
