Beautiful 925 sterling silver rhyolite jasper heart ring size 6.5, carved into a heart shape with multi coloured crystalline inclusions - a pretty green rainforest jasper ring for you!
Rhyolite is a banded or spotted volcanic rock containing silica inclusions and is formed by rapidly cooling magma. The crystals grow in patterns in the rock. Rhyolite is composed of a variety of crystals and inclusions, including quartz, plagioclase, potassium feldspar, biotite and amphibole. It is sometimes called ‘rainforest rhyolite’, ‘rainforest jasper’ and ‘Australian rainforest jasper’ which are nicknames for green rhyolite. Geologically, rhyolite is found in Australia, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, India, China and the USA.
This green jasper ring has a high quality cabochon, cut into a heart shape to show off the crystal formations. The gemstone ring is a lovely mint/sage rainforest green colour and the crystal inclusions have are multiple colours (see photos). It is smoothly polished and makes an ideal specimen ring for the rhyolite jewellery collector. The ring band is straight.
