Antique 1890's Victorian Museum Quality Crazy Quilt - 42 Hand Painted Squares including Lakes & Rivers - Hand Embroidery Work - 76" x 60"

This is a gorgeous museum quality crazy quilt with 42 + fabrics with hand painting and lovely hand embroidery work. Many colorful velvets, brocades, silks, ribbons. The quilt is hand pieced and quilted.

Many of the painted fabrics are theorem painted on velvets. The painted fabrics include 1 waterfall scene, 2 lake scenes, birds including humming birds and owls, flowers including bleeding hearts, lily of the valley, morning glories, dogwoods, calla lily, pansies plus many more. Fruit including an orange, grapes, berries, plums.

The hand embroidery work includes figures of children, a thanksgiving turkey, owls, initials, fruit, flowers, a horseshoe, hearts, fans, hatchets, stars, symbols.
Fabrics include panne velvets, velvets, velveteen, brocades, ribbons, silks.

A fuchsia pink panne velvet has been used to frame the quilt blocks. The backing fabric is a black satin that feels like charmeuse satin velvet.

Measurements: The quilt measures approximately 76" x 60". Each crazy quilt block measures 11" x 11".

Condition: The quilt is museum quality with very little damage.
I would guess that maybe less than 10% of the quilt has damage.
A few little areas of silks shattering and flaking on some of the painted areas.
Several of the painted areas have fine illusion veiling which I would guess was used to stabilize the painted areas before the hand embroidery work was done . The quilt is in "as found" condition. Please view photos for condition.
