Over the Range to the Golden Gate was written by Stanley Wood. This 351 page hard cover book gives an interesting look at traveling to the western part of the US during the turn of the century. This book describes places of interest on "the great trunk lines" between Denver, California, Portland, Seattle and Tacoma. This is a well illustrated book with photos and line drawings. In the back of the book are some chapters that are like advertising for California communities like Chico and Thermalito, and what property would cost if you'd like to settle there. This book has shelf wear but the binding is tight. A fun book to read and a great book to add to your collection.
