Can you make Custom or Personalised Lampshades?

All Love Frankie lampshades are handmade to order so it is no problem to create customised or bespoke Lampshades. Any bespoke colour combinations or custom sizes will make the lampshades non–returnable. We advise on ordering our free fabric and wallpaper samples first to make sure you are happy with the colours and textures.

What size Lampshade do I need? Can you help?

We offer 12 different size drum lampshade and 6 different sized cone lampshades so it’s not surprising it can be tricky to work out what size shade you might need. We have a helpful blog post – How To Find The Perfect Shade ( https://www.lovefrankie.com/blog/measuring-up-for-the-right-sized-lampshade/ ) and are always on hand to advise on the best fit for your space. Please email us a picture and the dimensions of your room or your lamp base and one of the team will happily advise.

Can I order fabric and wallpaper samples?

Why do you not need to know the direction for all your lampshades?

As our lampshade ring sets are the same for both ceiling shades and shades for table or floor lamps, we only need to know the direction of your lampshade if it has a directional pattern on it or has fringing. If the fabric / wallpaper used on the lampshade is plain, like our plain cottons, silks and linens we do not need to know whether it is for a lamp or ceiling pendant as it can be used either way round. We will always need to know the direction of our wallpaper and silhouette shades to make sure we get the animals round the right way.

What bulb should I use with my Love Frankie lampshade?

The type of bulb required for use with our lampshades will be dependent on the max wattage of the lamp or flex set you intend on using. However, Love Frankie always recommend using an LED, energy saving light bulb.

Can the wallpaper be used on the outside of the lampshade?

Sadly not often. If the wallpaper has a directional pattern we have to pattern match each wallpaper width together to form a continuous length for the lampshade. If we use the wallpaper on the outside of the shade, as the wallpaper is stretched round the lampshade rings we find little gaps start appearing down the seams where the paper has been pattern matched together. These gaps begin to let light through and can look a little unsightly!

Can I provide my own material for you to make a custom Lampshade?

Of course! We love creating something truly individual so please get in touch with our customer service team who would be happy to talk through your requirements. All bespoke orders are of course non-returnable and we always recommend sending through samples of your own fabric or wallpaper so our workshop can make sure the material is suitable for use with our binding tapes and ring sets. Sadly - Bespoke orders are put on hold during peak times.
