I have over 30 years of woodworking experience making handcrafted items. In my small wood shop, I design, craft, and build these looms to meet your needs so you can create your chunky blanket. Loom Sizes
I offer five sizes of looms: 30", 35", 48", 60" and 72". The 60" and 72" looms are cut in half and joined with a hinge. I offer three peg sizes: 3/4", 7/8", and 1".
30" loom- 3/4" peg with 3/4" spacing has 20 pegs.
30" loom- 7/8" peg with 7/8" spacing has 17 pegs.
30" loom- 1" peg with 1" spacing has 15 pegs.
35" loom- 3/4" peg with 3/4" spacing has 23 pegs.
35" loom- 7/8" peg with 7/8" spacing has 20 pegs.
35" loom- 1" peg with 1" spacing has 19 pegs.
48" loom- 3/4" peg with 3/4" spacing has 31 pegs.
48" loom- 7/8" peg with 7/8" spacing has 27 pegs.
48" loom- 1" peg with 1" spacing has 24 pegs.
60" loom- 3/4" peg with 3/4" spacing has 40 pegs. Cut in half and hinged.
60" loom- 7/8" peg with 7/8" spacing has 35 pegs. Cut in half and hinged.
60" loom- 1" peg with 1" spacing has 30 pegs. Cut in half and hinged.
72" loom- 3/4" peg with 3/4" spacing has 48 pegs. Cut in half and hinged.
72" loom- 7/8" peg with 7/8" spacing has 42 pegs. Cut in half and hinged.
72" loom- 1" peg with 1" spacing has 36 pegs. Cut in half and hinged.
Loom Specs.
I use Poplar wood to craft each loom base and pine dowels for the pegs. Each loom will have a different wood grain pattern and color tint due to the variations of the wood.
Loom base- All looms are milled to a width of 2-3/4" and a thickness of 13/16" by what length you choose. Top edges of the loom have a 3/8" round over so there are no sharp edges and all surfaces are sanded. Peg holes are drilled according to peg size at a depth of 1/2". All looms will have rubber feet added to the bottom to protect the loom and your work table surface.
Pegs- All pegs are 2" in height and tops are rounded like the tip of a bullet. This allows for ease of looping the yarn on and off the pegs without snagging the yarn and is easy on the fingers by not hitting the sharp flat edge like most other looms are made. All pegs are glued into the milled 1/2" deep holes with a superior high strength wood glue.
Looms 60" and above
All looms 60" and above are cut in half and hinged. This is done for ease of storing a longer loom and shipping. I use eight rubber feet that are screwed to the bottom of the loom to protect your work surface.
Shipping
I ship looms Monday thru Thursday. In most cases I ship looms out in 1-2 days. If it comes in late Thursday it may be Monday before it goes out. Any customized order will take a day or two longer to have ready to ship. I do my best to ship out the next day. I use foam and bubble wrap to protect the loom in shipping and secure the boxes to insure a safe undamaged delivery to you.
