Maine Made Maple Syrup

I've been making hobbyist maple syrup for 50+ years now! My dad taught me the art when I was 7 years old, we just loved making big fires in the back yard back then, but it led to this lifelong love of making the best of what we always called "northern gold". Here in Chesterville, I have about 450 trees hooked up to a central "Main Line" which runs into a collection unit in my house, once the sap is collected, which averages around 1.5-2.0% sap we use reverse osmosis and fire (boiling) to get this to 66% BRIX, aka "maple syrup". My incredibly loyal and hard working Pug Pishou is always at my side during daily operations and takes a keen interest in the process.

My syrup is a hobbyist syrup and is a DARK and STRONG amber. This is not a delicate compliment to your pancakes, this is a syrup that is robust and wants to own any plate its on. There are enough light syrup's on the market, this one is not competing in that space, this is dark robust and bold. In 50+ years I have never gotten anything but compliments and positive feedback, however, if for any reason you are unhappy with my syrup, let me know and I will make it right one way or another. Pishou and I take tremendous pride in our product and will make sure all our customers are happy.

My photos and video hopefully show the process. At the end of February here in Maine Pishou and I tap our 450 trees and wait for the first run of the season to fill up our tanks, once filled, we run the sap through a reverse osmosis system to get it to about 8% sugar. Once complete, we can then start to boil this down to 66% sugar, where upon the USDA declares it "done" and it's maple syrup. Speaking of USDA, this is NOT a USDA product, this is hobbyist syrup from a hobbyist in maine. What makes my setup unique is that I have about 100 silver maples, 250 sugar maples and another 100 or so swamp maples. I have a few red maples as well.

I offer four different sizes, 8oz, 12 oz, 250ml decorative bottle (8.5oz) and 500ml decorative bottle (17oz). These make for amazing gifts for anyone that appreciates home made maple syrup from the great northeast. I also have grades from medium amber to dark, if you have a preference, let me know and I'll do my best to make you a happy customer.
