These Talavera mug and saucer sets are beautifully handcrafted and hand-painted, showcasing the timeless artistry of Mexican craftsmanship from Puebla, Mexico. Denominated as the 4th most important artform across all of Mexico, each piece is intricately created with care, love, and immense talent from our amazing artisan team. Featuring a beautiful geometric flower design with glossy vibrant colors all around that reflect the rich cultural heritage of Mexican Talavera pottery. The design is painted by hand using brushes made from small bundles of horse hair and special paint that when cooked, becomes a distinct texture that you can clearly feel with your hands.
Made from a special red clay, these sets are not only stunning pieces of art but also functional for everyday use. Designed to withstand the rigors of daily life, every single Talavera piece is designed to last 100 years. Each piece is cooked a minimum of 5 times at 1,250 degrees Celsius (2282 degrees Fahrenheit) for 7-9 hours each time. This intense process results in a piece that can last for many generations and can be used in the microwave and dishwasher. All of our Talavera is also certified lead free as we test all of the clay to make sure it does not contain any harmful contaminants prior to creating any piece.
Thanks to their scratch-resistant glaze, the beautiful, vivid colors stay vibrant and won't wear off over time nor with daily use, ensuring that your mugs remain as vibrant as the day you first got them.
