Dread Event Cards: Custom HeroQuest Add-On - Evil Wizard Deck (40 cards, 2021 style)

Card size is mm 63x88 (approssimatively), matching the new 2021 layout style (but rules are compatible with the vintage versions of the game too).
The Dread Event deck (also called Evil Wizard deck) is a set of cards created to add some variety to our favourite dungeon crawler game and spice up your quests, solving annoying problems like a hero (usually the barbarian) blocking a door and many other things.
Each card is different but players don’t need to study any additional rule because everything you need to know is written on the cards. The most common way to use this deck is the following: if the Zargon player starts his turn with no monster to move (no miniatures placed on the board), he rolls one combat die. If a skull is rolled, he may draw one Dread Event card. Remember, the card eventually drawn is for the Evil Wizard player’s eyes only and must be revealed to the Heroes only when it’s played. The text on the card explains when it can be used. Only one card per turn can be played and its effect can not be combined with other cards. A card is discarded after it is used. At the end of a Quest, all unused Dread Event cards must be returned to the deck and shuffled. Heroes can’t go strolling through the dungeon anymore as this will result in more chances for the Evil Wizard player to draw other Dread Event cards to plan new threats!
Note: few Dread Event cards may require specific components from the expansions. If you are using only the basic game, you might consider to discard some Dread Event cards at the beginning of the Quest. For example, remove “Lost Scroll” if you are not using any Spell Scroll in your game.
This deck features 40 cards but we may consider to create new ones in the future. Feel free to suggest your own!
