Sacred Wheel Engraved on Wood "Sigillum Dei Aemeth" (or "Seal of God of Truth")

- The Sigillum Dei Aemeth (or "Seal of God of Truth") is a powerful esoteric symbol associated with angelic magic and the occult.
It is notably used in the works of John Dee, a 16th-century astrologer, alchemist, and occultist, who employed it in his Enochian magic practices.

- Origin and History
This seal has its roots in medieval tradition and Christian magic grimoires.
- It is mentioned as early as the 13th century in texts attributed to Johannes Trithemius and to medieval magi such as Peter d'Abano.
- John Dee perfected it in the 16th century in collaboration with Edward Kelley, claiming that it was an instrument given by angels for communication with the divine.

- Structure and Symbolism
The Sigillum Dei Aemeth is a circular and complex figure, composed of several layers of symbols, divine and angelic names:
- 1. The Central Pentagram
A pentagram (five-pointed star) is in the center, often associated with protection and harmony of the elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Spirit).
It contains divine and angelic names used to invoke spiritual forces.
- 2. The Heptagram (Seven-Pointed Star)
A heptagram surrounds the pentagram, representing the seven archangels associated with the days of the week:
- Michael (Sunday)
- Gabriel (Monday)
- Samael (Tuesday)
- Raphael (Wednesday)
- Sachiel (Thursday)
- Anael (Friday)
- Cassiel (Saturday)
3. Outer Rings and Inscriptions
The seal consists of several layers of letters and numbers.
These inscriptions are from Christian Kabbalah and contain sacred names of God, angels and words of power.
The many crosses and symbols are intended to protect and amplify spiritual energy.

- Use in Magic
John Dee used the Sigillum Dei Aemeth as a talisman during his angelic sessions. He placed it under a crystal or under the feet of his "Table of Practice."

Here are its main functions:
- 1. Communication with Angels
It served as a key to open the doors to the celestial world and to dialogue with higher spirits.
- 2. Spiritual Protection
It acted as a magical shield against negative forces and malevolent spirits.
- 3. Power Amplification
It was used to increase the effectiveness of rituals and strengthen the connection with divine forces.
Meaning of "Aemeth"

The word "Aemeth" (or "Emeth") means "Truth" in Hebrew (אמת).
This symbolizes that the seal contains divine truth, linked to secret wisdom and heavenly knowledge.
John Dee viewed this seal as a divinely inspired tool, granting its user access to the hidden truths of the universe.
Influence and Legacy

- The Sigillum Dei Aemeth has influenced many esoteric traditions:
- Enochian Magic (Golden Dawn, Theosophy)
- Freemasonry and Hermeticism
- Alchemy and modern occultism

It is still studied and used in esoteric circles today as a powerful symbol of protection and spiritual enlightenment.

- Conclusion
The Sigillum Dei Aemeth is one of the most fascinating symbols in the occult. Conceived as a mystical key to communicating with angels and protecting its user, it remains a central tool in Western magical tradition. Its complexity and many layers of symbolism make it an essential object of study for esoteric enthusiasts.

Sigillum Dei is beautiful and perfectly crafted. I love it, but when the wooden circle arrived, it smelled strongly of fire and ash. After scrubbing it with soap and water, the unpleasant smell has almost disappeared.
