This 3D-printed pendant lamp shade combines the textured organic character of a sea urchin with the soft, scalloped shape of a closed flower bud. Designed as a ceiling light shade, it has an airy mesh structure and ribbed form that make it visually striking both when unlit and when switched on.

When lit, the mesh and ridges create variation across the surface and cast a beautiful, patterned glow onto nearby walls and ceiling. The effect is soft and atmospheric, almost like a luminescent jellyfish, making it a strong choice for mood lighting. Lighter and bolder colours tend to glow more strongly, while muted shades create a calmer and more understated effect.

When unlit, the rounded pleats and matte finish still give the shade a decorative presence, allowing it to work as both a practical ceiling lamp shade and an artistic focal point.

Created in collaboration with Lunfardo Studio in Argentina, this shade is made using 3D printing to achieve a shape and texture that would not be possible with a standard fabric shade.
