This is not a finished product! This is a digital download knitting pattern for a throw blanket, measuring approximately 40 x 60 inches. The listing photos show the completed blanket.

What's included:
A pdf file with written instructions for those that prefer to read and a graph for the visual learner

About:
This is a graph pattern and instructions for making a chunky knit blanket using your fingers. No knitting needles are required! I tend to knit tightly, and this pattern results in a blanket measuring approximately 40 x 60 inches for me. Many users will end up with a larger blanket if you knit more loosely. You might also choose to add a border to this blanket.

What you will need:
You will need all of the usual items you use for knitting chunky blankets including, but not limited to a pair of scissors, a lighter for color changes, a needle and thread. I used approximately 6 3/4 skeins of oatmeal yarn for the background. These skeins were from an overseas supplier and are about 28 yards long and weigh about 8 ounces. They are similar in size and weight to Hobby Lobby Yarn Bee Eternal Bliss. For the shamrock, I used almost all of a large skein of Bernat Blanket Extra Thick from Joanne’s. The color is Underbrush. These skeins come in 72 yards, so if you are using Hobby Lobby yarn instead, you would need less than 3 skeins.

Experience level:
This pattern and instructions are intended for crafters with prior experience finger knitting with chunky yarn. I would consider this an intermediate level project. You will need to understand the basic knit stitch along with how to cast on and cast off. This pattern involves color changes which can be accomplished in several ways. I prefer to use the burning method for a cleaner end result. You may prefer to tie knots, sew, or use the intarsia method. Whatever method you decide to use is fine. You should already know how to change colors using your chosen method for this project. If you would like to add a border to your blanket, you will need to know how to crochet a border.

Copyright:
Although this shamrock is not a unique design, these instructions and associated graph are subject to copyright protection. I have made them available for your personal use. Please do not reproduce or share them in any way. The product(s) you make using my instructions and graph can be used in any way you wish!

About me:
My name is Natalie, and I live in Tarpon Springs, Florida. All of my products are handmade with love in the USA!

I’ve had people ask questions about my work, and I realized that not everyone uses the same process to learn. Some users need a graphic representation, while other users prefer written instructions. I have also found that some of the most experienced knitters have difficulty calculating how many loops to cast on yarn along with how many rows to knit. My solution was to take a project and provide written instructions along with a visual graph so that users can choose the method they feel most comfortable with to embark on a new project.
