1920s Art Deco Mandalian Enamelled Mesh Purse

This is a wonderful art deco Mandalian enamelled mesh purse. The purse is decorated with a floral and fan pattern in tones of red, orange and black on a cream or pale yellow background. It has a raised detail silver plated hinged frame made in an arched shape with rounded corners and a chainmail fringe. It has a chain handle. The purse has a height of 9” exclusive of its handle and a width of 4” across the frame - the handle has a fall of 6 1/2”. The interior frame is stamped “Mandalian Mfg. Co”. The purse is in very good condition with no wear to the enamel - there is slight wear to the silver finish on the frame and one strand of the fringe is missing half of the chain and there are a couple of missing strands, quite a minor issue.
This is the type of purse favoured by the flappers of the 1920s - very nice example, great addition to a collection or simply to display and/or use!
