• Each is securely attached to the cufflink hardware with aircraft grade, jeweler's cement bonding, and countersink drilled in.
• The reverse side of the fossil is lightly coated in resin to act as a "bumper" to prevent damage while wearing or if dropped - and to further secure the hardware in place for a lasting piece of the ocean/earth

►ABOUT THE TEETH:
Did you know that sharks grow and shed thousands of teeth during their lifetimes? The teeth of sharks are constantly regenerated, each tooth that is lost or broken is quickly replaced by a new one. This is why they're so abundant in the fossil record. The color of each tooth is caused by the minerals in which it was embedded as it fossilized.

From 23 million years ago to as recent as 2.6 million years ago this massive, ocean predator patrolled the shallow oceans around the Carolinas feasting on whales, sea cows and other large marine mammals. It had gigantic teeth measuring up to 7 inches long. Like modern sharks, the Megalodon shed its teeth frequently as they became worn or damaged from feeding.

►ABOUT THE MAKER:
Each bolo, tie tack, lapel pin, tie bar and pair of cufflinks is unique and one of a kind, and made by hand by printmaker, metalworking artist and Cyberoptix founder, Bethany Shorb. I work between Detroit, MI and a mini-studio RV in Arizona, where I source all our stone, crystal, shell and fossil specimens there and at the Tucson and Quartzsite AZ gem shows. All are intuitively sourced in person, from only the most reputable individual suppliers.
