Custom and personalized orders

CUSTOM ORDERS & IMAGE FILES We specialize in custom printing, matting and framing, including unusual sizes, custom mat openings, circles, collages and multiple openings. For poster and photo printing, we can often add text to your image or make minor image/design adjustments. We do not print text, names or other designs directly onto matboard. We also review and optimize image files for printing, including resolution enhancement when appropriate. If we find an issue that requires your input, we'll contact you.

SIZING & MEASUREMENTS For mats, the outside size is the full size that fits your frame; the opening is the window showing your artwork. Unless Window Exact is requested, we normally cut openings 1/4" smaller overall than the artwork, providing about 1/8" overlap on each side. For multiple openings, orientation-specific layouts, or openings with offset/uneven borders, please include a simple sketch showing all measurements and placement. Customers are responsible for accurate measurements. Photos can help explain a project but cannot reliably provide exact dimensions. If you're unsure how to measure, please message us before ordering.

CARE & HANDLING Please unpack your order carefully. Mats may be placed between different layers of cardboard, and multiple prints may be rolled together. Check all packaging before assuming an item is missing. Handle prints with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the printed surface whenever possible. Keep unframed prints protected from moisture, excessive heat, scratching and creasing. Acrylic glazing can scratch more easily than glass. Handle it carefully and avoid abrasive cleaners or rough paper towels.

Gift wrapping and packaging

GIFT WRAPPING & PACKAGING We do not offer gift wrapping. Every order is carefully packaged according to the product being shipped. Multiple mats may be separated between layers of cardboard for protection, and prints may be rolled together. If something appears missing, please check ALL layers of packaging first. If your order arrives damaged, contact us promptly, preferably within 7 days. Keep the item, box and all packaging. We may request photos of the damaged item, shipping box, internal packaging and shipping label. Please do not discard packaging until the issue is resolved.

Wholesale availability

LARGE & QUANTITY ORDERS We may be able to offer special pricing for larger quantities of prints, mats or frames depending on the product, sizes, quantities and project requirements. Please message us with the details of what you need and we'll be happy to review your project and provide pricing when applicable. Please note that large quantity and complex custom orders may require additional production time.

IMPORTANT ORDER INFORMATION

CUSTOM ORDER INFORMATION Mat sample packs are available if you'd like to see actual matboard colors before ordering. We do not ship glass by itself. Glass/glazing listings are add-ons to frame orders. 18x24 is the largest framed size we ship with glass; larger frames use acrylic. SENDING FILES: You can attach image files through Etsy Messages. If your file is too large to send through Etsy, you may email it to dantheframeman@gmail.com. Please include your name or order number so we can match the file to your order. Need faster shipping? Message us with your ZIP code and needed-by date and we'll check available options.

HOW DO I SEND MY IMAGE FILE?

You can attach your image through Etsy Messages. If the file is too large to send through Etsy, you may email it to dantheframeman@gmail.com. Please include your name or order number so we can match the file with your order.

MY IMAGE IS LOW RESOLUTION. CAN YOU STILL PRINT IT?

Often, yes! We review image files before printing and can often improve or upscale lower-resolution images. If we believe your file will not produce an acceptable print at the size ordered, we'll contact you to discuss your options.

WHAT DOES "WINDOW EXACT" MEAN?

Our standard mat opening is normally cut 1/4" smaller overall than the artwork size, allowing approximately 1/8" overlap on each side. WINDOW EXACT means we cut the opening to the exact dimensions you provide, without automatically reducing it for overlap.

CAN I ORDER GLASS WITHOUT A FRAME?

No. For safety, we do not ship glass by itself. Glass and glazing listings are add-ons for qualifying frame orders. For framed pieces being shipped, 18x24 is the largest size we ship with glass. Larger framed pieces use acrylic rather than glass.

The foam board arrived in time and was packaged very nicely to protect it during shipping. It is cut very precisely. The material is quite thick and also acid free, so it will give excellent protection - both physical and chemical - to my framed photograph. Wish I had ordered it earlier!
