You just got a Left/Right Game? Awesome! Here’s a simple trick to make sure everyone gets to participate, whether you have 10, 20, or even more players.
The Issue: If you only use one gift, only a few people will end up holding it during the story.
The Easy Fix: Use TWO gifts!
How it works: Have everyone sit in a circle. At the start of the story, hand out two different gifts or objects (like a blue present and a red present).
The Rule: Give the first gift to one person and tell them to pass it to the left every time they hear “LEFT.” Give the second gift to someone on the opposite side of the circle and tell them to pass it to the right every time they hear “RIGHT.”
What happens: The gifts move in opposite directions, cross paths, change hands… and EVERYONE gets to touch the gifts way more often! It’s more fun, more fair, and keeps the whole group engaged.
Big group alternative: If you have a really big crowd, split into smaller circles of 8–12 people. Each circle can play with its own gift and its own story reader. It’s just as much fun!
