First and foremost, when you receive the item please hang it and/or take the item out of the package to minimize wrinkles as soon as possible. Wrinkles will almost certainly happen just due to the nature of shipping, despite my mitigation efforts. You may need to steam the items after shipment if fabric allows. For long term care of a piece, it really depends on both the age and fiber content of the item in question. The Vintage Fashion Guild is a wonderful organization dedicated to the education and preservation of vintage. They have care and cleaning resources based upon age and fabric. On Fabric - I am no expert in textiles, and more often than not pieces do not have content tags. As such I do my best to provide an educated assumption.

What makes a garment vintage?

If a garment is labeled vintage it is generally assumed that the piece is 20 years old or older. As such, these pieces are rare - sometimes even collector items - adding character to anyone’s wardrobe. But keep in mind, these items are pre-loved (AKA USED!). They usually have flaws and imperfections due to their age, previous wear, or how they were stored in the past. They also usually have evidence of prior mending’s and alterations and will definitely require continuous care in order to preserve and keep these pieces around for decades to come. This care and love shown to these garments is what makes these items unique to anyone’s wardrobe and in a sense, perfectly imperfect!

What are your shipping policies?

All orders for the time being must be shipped domestically (within the United States). Orders will be shipped through USPS to reduce carbon emissions – they already come to your address almost every day! We will not be held responsible for items lost or damaged during their shipment, or if an item is stated as delivered via tracking but has not been found by recipient. Once the item is in the hands of USPS, any following action regarding shipping issues will need to be taken to USPS. We apologize for any inconvenience our shipping policies have caused to those of you not currently residing in the United States. We will try to figure out international shipping costs, customs, duties, etc. soon!

Explaining vintage condition categories : Part 1

Vintage is often imperfect. It is used or old clothing. I carefully select (and if need be, repair where I can) all vintage pieces before listing. All listings have photos and descriptions, which contain measurements and the items condition. I follow the bellow scale (see part 2) when providing a garments condition. This is to serve as a guide pf what to expect and to give you an understanding of how I categorize things, but it is by no means an exhaustive list of what can go wrong with a garment within each category. Remember that these items are old, sometimes over 100 years old! So just keep this in mind when reading descriptions as the fabric can be very delicate! I try to add additional details and photos to a listing when I can.

Explaining vintage condition categories : Part 2

Mint : Absolutely pristine - brand new & was never worn Excellent: In great shape with maybe some very minor flaws- a tiny pin prick or snag. Generally some evidence that it was worn at least once in the past. Good: expect issues including but not limited to snags, loose threads or popped seams, minor marks/discoloration for “overall wear”. Evidence of repairs made. Importantly, the garment can be worn without needing MAJOR rework. Fair: Has issues! Rarely it can be worn as is, but generally speaking there is some MAJOR work needed to restore the piece. Some examples may be of a piece that has some major color fade and needs to be re-dyed or perhaps an antique item with some major holes making this piece better for costume or Study.

What Is your Return Policy?

All items are Final Sale. Due to the nature, rarity, and delicacy of vintage pieces, no returns will be accepted at this time. These pieces are all vintage, meaning they are USED. Unless explicitly stated an item is in MINT Condition with original tags, expect wear. Please make sure to read the description AND look at photos as these should be used as a COMBINATION to understand a garments condition. In many cases, I cannot add photos for EVERY SINGLE flaw as only 10 photos are allowed on this platform. Please accept that I am human and double check measurements and all information before purchasing. Measurements, descriptions, and photos are all done to the best of my ability. Part 1: All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled, unless stated otherwise. This means that these measurements are then technically an approximation for various reasons including these types of measurements generally cannot account for things like pleating and darting. I do try to provide a corresponding letter size (i.e. XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X etc.), but keep in mind many vintage pieces were hand-made, fitted to their previous owner and/or were intended to be worn with foundation garments (i.e. bullet bras, girdles, corsets, etc.), so sizing will usually not match up perfectly with modern standard sizes!!

Part 2: I do work off of and compare garment sizes with a standard sizing chart for my own reference point. Keep in mind this chart may not always align with modern brands you buy from. To ensure the best fit PLEASE double check your measurements when purchasing. It is always best to allow for a bit of wiggle room. Unlike with modern brands most vintage pieces have NO GIVE - so keep this in mind when checking measurements unless I state otherwise in a listing. It is generally easier to get a piece taken in, rather than taken out - although alterations can change the look of a piece.

Purple is one of the best colors to wear for Spring!!!! And honestly, this is one of the sweetest dresses I have seen in quiet some time! The mini purple shift style dress has the coolest sleeves and pleating detail! The dress zips up the back with a Taylon zip. The pocket and the buttons are all decorative. Fabric feels like a silk-wool blend and is lined. There is no label. The dress is meant to fit like a shift style dress- so a bit loosely in the waist- as such it would likely best fit a modern Extra Small, possibly a small, BUT hip measurement is likely best for an extra small if you want to keep pleating in tact and not spreading apart! Please see measurements below! Dress form is modern size Extra Small for reference.

Bust: 34 inches

Waist: 29 inches

Hips: about 34 inches to keep pleating intact!

Length: 34.5 inches (back of collar, down)

Sleeve Length: 20 inches

Fair vintage condition - Presents beautifully overall and I think its still wearable but there is some overall wear to the dress, including that the fabric does exhibit some notable wear in a a few place especially the sleeves- some of which have been mended/patched. Unfortunately a few stubborn marks are also present and remain throughout piece, despite repeated attempts to remove them. This includes some discoloration at the underarms on the interior. Some wear to the inner seam allotments. There are snaps within the collar (on the inside) that likely attached a matching removable collar, but the collar is now missing. Small hole found on inside of dress near zipper and hook closure - not noticeable when worn.
