This is a hand-colored lithograph, published in 1938 by A, Inc. The lithograph shows colorful fruits, including peaches, grapes and plums. The lithograph is based on an early 19th century painting by Jean Louis Prevost, whose beautiful paintings of flowers and fruits were reproduced as colored stipple engravings in the work "Collection des fleurs et des fruits." This 12 volume work is still considered to have some of the best botanical illustrations of all time.

The lithograph has a green mat, and is framed under glass in a wood frame with a warm brown finish. There is hanging hardware on the back. The frame likely dates from about 1960 to 1970.

Condition: The artwork is in very good condition, with great color throughout. The paper has tanned uniformly. I opened the back of the frame, so I could put acid-free mat board behind the lithograph to protect it from the cardboard backing. While I had the frame open, I took a photo of the copyright date on the lithograph (see final photo). After I put the artwork back in the frame, I added fresh paper backing.
