HEALING DRUM Mama Bear Medicine - shamanic totem drum with signature symbology artwork - 16" diameter

HEALING DRUM "Mama Bear Medicine" - Keeper of the West.

Bears are prominent in the mythology of nearly every Native American tribe, a creature with impressive magical power, playing a major role in many religious rites and ceremonies.
Bear is the primary totem symbol associated with the cardinal direction of the West, the healer and dreamer in the native tradition, offering teachings of strength, introspection and great wisdom. Nations honor the bear clan in each tribe as sacred keepers of this healing medicine.
History tells us that the Bear Clan were originally comprised of women – honored caretakers of Mama Gaia's medicines. All Bears intimately know the healing properties of plants and roots and Mama Bears have very strong maternal instincts, caring for their young for two or even three years. These nurturing and caring qualities make Bear the perfect power totem of healers.

Mama Bear Medicine - the power of 'healing and knowing' has invited you to enter the cave of silence, to retreat and restore. Become acquainted with the Dream Lodge, seek the sanctuary to heal and allow your visions to manifest.

This drum is a large size - 16" diameter x 3.5" deep and comes with it's own stained wood handle and padded beater. Comfortable to hold and easy to play, even for long periods of time - a perfect drum and sacred tool for journey and trance work. All artwork is sealed for protection and will hold up permanently as long as the padded beater is used. Treat this sacred tool as you would any treasured possession.

Please note, you have the option to purchase a padded woven Ikat bag at a 20% discount ($76), when purchased at the time of your drum order. Medium size bags are $95 when purchased separately. *Note: This drum is made from a fiber and resin material, not an animal skin. Most animal hide drums often loose their tone and timbre when we travel or play them near oceans, lakes, rivers, damp days or nights. This can permanently ruin the animal hide and of course the sound, as there is no way of re-tightening a frame drum effectively.
As a shamanic practitioner and sound healer, working with the right vibration is always very important to me. The fiber skin drums I offer are a preferred and proven tool for healers, singers and body workers that rely on a consistent sound vibration for their practice.
