This quiet book (often called a busy book or a felt book) is designed to help your young child learn his/her shapes. It is perfect for taking with you to the church, doctor's office, grocery store, or anywhere you might need to keep your child quietly entertained. I take ours to church with us every week and my twin toddlers love theirs! They especially love trying to match the shapes.

Each page focuses on a different shape and includes some sort of activity. In addition, there are 6 detachable shapes that your child can practice matching to the shapes on the pages. The detachable shapes are stored in a bag at the back of the book and are attached to the pages with velcro.

The pages in my book are made from Pellon Peltex interfacing, which is a VERY stiff, felt like material (almost as stiff as cardboard). I like the stiff pages because they are easier for my young children to turn, they hold up better, and make the book look a lot more professional.

All of the shapes are hand cut from felt and stitched to the pages by machine.

The pattern includes a materials list, instructions, photos, and a full set of printable templates.

Freezer Paper
Buttons, ribbon, Velcro, googly eyes, binder rings, Ziplock baggie, hole punch
