Nautical Necklace Set Ocean Inspired Gift Kumihimo Braided Blue Necklace Beach Glass Earrings Resort Jewelry Ribbon Necklace Birthday Gift

This stunning and elegant statement necklace was created using an ancient Japanese braiding technique known as kumihimo. I used four hand-dyed satin shimmer cords in dark blue and combined them with four strands of hand-dyed silk ribbon variegated in dark blue and purple with a silvery stripe down the middle. The metallic silver threading incorporated into the ribbon is what gives the kumihimo rope its fabulous shimmer. The pendant is a silver plated rhinestone decorated anchor connector. This beautiful pendant is adorned with a vitrail starfish crystal wire wrapped to the bottom. The ends of the braid were finished with 8mm silver plated end caps with blue beach glass beads and silver spacers. I used a shell decorated lobster clasp for the closure. All the metal components used in this design are nickel and lead free.

The necklace is 29" (73.66cm) in length. The anchor pendant is 1.5" (3.81cm) and hangs approximately 3" (7.62cm) with the ribbon tassel from the bottom of the cording. The matching earrings are 2.5" (6.35cm) in length from the top of the silver plated lever back ear wires to the bottom of the design. The coordinating earrings were made with cobalt blue beach glass rectangles with an over lying silver anchor. I wire wrapped a vitrail starfish crystal to the bottom of the anchors to mimic the beautiful focal pendant and tassel of the necklace.
