It weighs approximately 5.3 ounces per yard.

It is a light weight fabric that would make great pillow covers, table runners, or almost any home decor project. It would also make a nice accent for jean pockets or a light weight jacket. The weaving is very finely done. The pattern is traditional and the weaving is exquisite.

Weaving is a tradition in the Mayan villages that has been handed down from generation to generation. It is done on a treadle loom without the use of electricity. It is said that the gift of weaving was given to the Mayan people by the goddess Ixchel. The ikat design is incredible. The thread is actually dyed before it is woven. The person who does the dying and the weaver are true artists!!
