About The Necklace:

The natural Prehnite (18x34mm) pendant measures 7/8" wide by 2 1/4" long including bail.

The necklace was created with approx. 9-16mm natural Prehnite pebbles and 8x10mm antique silver accenting.

Necklace is 20" long and has a secure lobster claw closure.

About The Earrings:

Earrings were created with approx. 9-11mm natural Prehnite pebbles.

The earrings are 3" long including french wire hooks.

All metal used to create this set is silver plated.

PREHNITE - Prehnite is named for Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, a Dutch mineralogist and early governor of the Cape of Good Hope settlement in South Africa, who first discovered the stone in the early 18th century. Prehnite has the distinction of being the first mineral to be named after a person.

The gemstone prehnite also goes by several nicknames. Early traders called prehnite "cape emerald", referring to the location where the stone was first discovered and its visual resemblance to emeralds. In China, prehnite is called "grape jade" due to its cluster formation habit that resembles a bunch of pale green grapes. Prehnite is also referred to as the "prediction stone", as some believe it can enhance dreams and memory.
