I've started working on a new collection brooches featuring the astrological constellations. Astrology has been one of my passions for many years and I've been looking for an idea that would link astrology to jewellery, without it being to obvious or too cheesy. What I like about these brooches is that they are abstract and yet have so much meaning (as much meaning as you are prepared to give them).

I am trying to use as much as possible the gemstones that correspond to each sign. Here, for ARIES, I used 2mm and 2.5mm, brilliant cut cubic Zirconia, a more affordable replacement for diamonds (Aries corresponding gemstone).

The ARIES pin measured roughly 55 x 38 mm (2.1 x 1.5 inches).

This brooch is ready to ship and will arrive beautifully packed in a black box.

It looks so gorgeous! I went for the oxidised/patina'd finish, it seemed to play well with the striking detail of the lace from what can be seen in the photos. But, even though nothing is wrong with the photos, if going by the photos it simply is impossible to get an accurate impression of the true quality of what this is. Right? Wait a minute. Stop worrying! Not only does this ring match the description, it radiates pure magic. Yes, we all know that lace also has a connotation of being predestined for the detail freak type of person, and yes, you get multiple boatloads of detail when you buy this ring. So, it is easy to start to wonder, what else is there that makes this so special then. Honestly, it's about the character/feel as a whole, which isn't just delicate, with some kind of subtle rustic finish. Killed my expectations!
