This is a find from the gem and mineral show that I get to pass on to you metalworkers! The Kingman, AZ. stones were chosen for their unique cut and I really tried to find the card with the most uniform color, too. The color is a lighter blue-green than the last squares I offered, but still a good medium hue. They are really viewed differently in sun and shade and lightbulbs, so the photos above just show you different views of the same stones. The first one is taken in natural light.
These can all be set in one piece if you have a mind to do so, even though there is a little variation in color in the parcel! I know squares are difficult, but taking the time to make the bezel has its rewards. Your piece demands that you make something unique, and your customers will appreciate it! Do yourself a favor and push the envelope that allows you to break through to another dimension! Photos are very similar to the stones you receive since these stones have little matrix or color variation. Because of that, I can offer more than one parcel in this listing.
As you see, the stones are 4mm squares and do have a rounded top edge. I recommend you notch the corners in square stones. It looks great and makes it so you don't need to figure what to do with all that corner metal! Otherwise, starting from the 4 corners is another good way to set them. As with the majority of Kingman calibrated stones, these are treated for hardness. They are approximately 2mm deep, so they will be sturdy in anything you care to set them in.
These are the heaviest of my 4mm square Kingman stones. They were cut long ago and are well done, with a nice smooth rounded top. The other 2 parcels I offer are not as deeply cut.
