I designed this cardigan to be quick and easy to make using a technique that means no side seams or visible join for the sleeves. This pattern is sixteen pages long and includes tension information, photos, construction notes and finishing tips.
You can use this pattern to make a either a short sleeved cardigan or a vest (sleeveless). You can change the look of your cadigan by adding some colour work (instructions not included), choosing some cute fabric covered buttons or adding a flower (instructions included).
There are three sizes included in the instructions for you to make:
3 months (18" to fit chest 16" to 17")
6 months (19" to fit chest 17" to 18")
12 months (20" to fit chest 18" to 19")
All my patterns are written in American crochet terminology and in English. This pattern is rated "Easy". Only simple stitches are used (e.g. ch, sl, sc, hdc) but I do not consider this pattern suitable for beginners unless they are very confident in not just making basic stitches, but also working in rows, simple shaping and re-joining by identifying the right and wrong side.
You will require worsted weight (USA = Medium/4, UK = Aran, AUS = 10ply) yarn. For the samples in the photographs I used Sirdar Supersoft Aran.
