With this design (and the companion Cornflower Meadow) Jane was aiming to capture that amazing light you get when the sunshines and the sky is dark grey, where all the light reflects down to make everything look luminous. We have a very small garden, but Jane loved wildflowers and more than once we attempted to create a meadow as part of it. If it looked anything like this she would have been very happy.

Poppy meadow is handprinted in two layers onto a hand made and dyed lokta paper. There are never two exactly the same.

The image measures 24cm square and is printed onto paper approx 32cm square.

This is a beautiful print, and the third I’ve purchased from Mike. The Poppy print paper is much more grey with no green undertones than the shop image shows, but instead matches the written description better. Outstanding product and service. Jane’s legacy is alive and well in our house with these poppies and the the two swallow prints. Beautiful.

Thanks for your feedback about the colours (and your purchases!). The handmade dyed lokta papers used for this print do always seem a little subject to colour variation - and any photos taken for the listings are influenced by the light/sunshine/cloud cover on the day. I'll try to take a new photo that more closely matches our current batch of dyed lokta. Thanks again.

There is the beauty of this piece of art and there is the story of family love and devotion behind it, to produce and bring it forward.
