The country side of Normandy, France is so peaceful it is hard to imagine the horrors of war that once ravaged its fields. Today flocks of sheep have the right of way across the landscape. Traffic halts to let the meander across the roads. The Abbey of Mont St. Michel is the back drop from almost every place you travel along the coast. So in this painting I combined 2 outstanding features of the region: The medieval city rising from the morning mist as the sheep graze on the lush green grass. I've visited twice and would go back every year if I could!

Art is meant to bring pleasure to both the artist and the observer. So if you don't love this piece I will do my best to make it right.
