Dip your toes into the world of highly functional, yet minimal leather chain wallet design. Built for those men out there looking to get into minimal chain wallets while still keeping the functionality of a traditional bifold. The way I do it is by favoring the durability of Full-Grain Vegetable-Tanned Leather paired with Solid Brass hardware, when combined it makes for a very thin wallet that will last for a lifetime of heavy use. Basically it wont wear out. For the casual man who still needs to carry a moderate amount of cash and all of his cards, this chain wallet will still manage to slip comfortably into his front or back pocket, without the bulk.
*Fits most currencies, see 'Size' section below for details
I cut, brand, stamp, dye, oil and wax and assemble each mens wallet by hand in my workshop here in the U.S. providing the highest degree of quality you can imagine – that’s Cowboy Quality. As an added bonus, I include a free tin of my own all-natural Spiff N’ Shine, a handmade leather conditioner meant to keep your high quality leather wallet in high quality shape.
DESIGN UPDATE:
As of 7/8/21 two extra rivets have been placed on the interior for all styles of this wallet. This helps to tighten the two 'card pockets' located behind the front slots. See photo above for an example of where they are located.

The snap version of this wallet (not available on this marketplace) measures approximately 3.25 x 4.5 inches when folded and is about 5/16 inch (10mm) at its thickest leather only point. The snaps are slightly thicker, but once the wallet is loaded with cards and cash – the snap area equals or is thinner than the loaded wallet.
The Mens Leather Wallet will easily fit 6 – 8 cards initially (up to 12 or so once broken in), receipts notes and bills. You must allow the wallet a bit of time to be broken in so that it may stretch to fit your needs. Once fully broken in (about 1-2 weeks or so) you can add even more cards. This wallet is built entirely from one continuous cut of leather folded onto itself and the interior divider will initially be the same length as the outer piece. The exterior leather will eventually break in and lengthen slightly more than the divider as is typical in traditionally cut wallets.
CHAIN OPTIONS:
OPTION A - Is a lighter weight steel with nickel plating. It's about 18 inches long and the chain width is 3/16" wide.
OPTION B - A nice heavy weight chain made of stainless steel with a stainless steel clip. Measures 18 inches long and a chain width of 7/16" wide.
OPTION C - A sturdy Full Grain Leather strap is cut to 7/16" width and riveted to a stainless steel clip on one end and a stainless steel split ring on the other. The leather color will match your wallet unless specified in the comment section at checkout. Measures about 18.5" long.
OPTION D - This leather chain strap ends in a snapping belt loop meant to go over belts up to 1.75" wide. Made from one piece of solid full-grain leather, the other end attaches you your wallet via a stainless steel split ring. Leather color will match your wallet unless specified in the comment section at checkout. Measures 19" long from end to end, 7/16" width on strap section, and 7/8" width on snap section.
OPTION E - Want to attach your own chain? Choose this option and we will install a solid brass nickel plated grommet with stainless steel split ring so you can use your own chain. The grommet will be installed in the same location as the photos and placement cannot be customized.

THE CREATION OF YOUR MENS WALLET
Now, there aren't too many people makin' wallets with as much care as I do, so I thought I would share the process with y'all:
♦Every morning Mr. Lentz wakes up and brews a pot of Cowboy Coffee, you know - the grainy type with a bit of grind still left in the cup. Sippin' on this, he enters his workshop and pulls out a large 'side' of raw, full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather. Usually a roll of about 24 square feet, of leather smellin' goodness. From this roll he will plan out the day's cuts, which pieces will be best used for wallets, and where the most interesting natural markings lay. Mr. Lentz will then start the cutting and punching process, shaping the wallet down to the millimeter using a series of sharp knives and precision cutting tools.
♦From there, it will be carried over to the Mr. Lentz logo branding machine, a beast of a tool that is capable of over a thousand degrees of heat. The brand is set in place and the logo is impressed on the surface...a sweet smell of singed leather fills the air with a puff of steam. Next, the wallet is carried over to the sequential number machine, where Mr. Lentz first sprays on a bit of water into place before adjusting the machine and pulling down on the lever to set the numbers deep into the leather. This number signifies the order in which the wallet or other leather good was made in the history of Mr. Lentz Leather Goods. It is sequential right from the start of Mr. Lentz's early work, and he has a book to account for every item and number marked.
♦If you chose to personalize your wallet, then Mr. Lentz will heat up another branding tool, as well capable of over 1,000 degrees. The letters are hand placed into the tool in the old-fashioned typesetter's way, then the wallet is again sprayed with a mist of water. Mr. Lentz will hold the branding tool above the wallet, carefully aligning the initials in place, then with a quick and brisk movement, the numbers are pressed and held into place as the tool brands the leather.
♦The wallet is then set out to dry in the natural heat and wind of the Southwest's desert air for several hours. Once fully dry, the wallet is brought over to be oiled and conditioned. Mr. Lentz is proud to say that he makes his own leather conditioner from all-natural materials as well. It is the same leather conditioner that he ships free with every wallet as a can of Spiff N' Shine (also hand-filled! ) The wallet is set on a table and rubbed down from side to side with a few layers of an oil-wax mixture. This process is then repeated on the backside and over again until the wallet has fully absorbed just the right amount as to be soft and pliable.
♦Once oiled, every wallet is hand-buffed with a soft cloth before each rivet is placed into the leather, one by one. The rivets are assembled together with several hundred pounds of force, creating a super-durable and tight fit... one that will last a long long time. The wallet is then hand hammered into shape, thus keeping its tightly made corners and folds.
♦Each wallet is then fit with a paper sleeve made from recycled materials, and attached with a free tin of Mr. Lentz Spiff N' Shine. Then, finally - after a day or so of work - it is off to the postal service to make its way to you and your pocket. It will last you a long long time.
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed hearing about all of the work that went into this purely handcrafted piece of leather goodness!
