This is a PDF digital download. You are buying a pattern and tutorial, not a finished quilt.
This is an ideal project to learn machine applique. It includes 19 pages of instruction for the applique and constructing the rag quilt, with 32 pictures, making it very easy to follow.
The quilt as shown uses a machine blanket stitch. For those whose machine does not have a blanket stitch, I have included directions for applique with a basic zigzag stitch. The look will be similar.
This pattern requires intermediate quilting skills, such as rotary cutting squares and familiarity with a sewing machine. Free-motion quilting skills are not required. All the quilting can be done with the feed dogs up.
This beautiful applique rag quilt has a finished size of approximately 41" x 41". This is a nice size for a baby quilt or a wall hanging.
This pattern works well with charm packs (precut 5" squares); you can use the squares for the heart appliques.
