Overview: 8x10" CUSTOM woodcut maps lasercut on 1/8" baltic birch with a 1/4" border.
Everyone loves trying to find the perfect gift. These one of a kind maps are completely customizable so you can give the gift they'll love. Perfect for weddings, anniversaries, new homes, birthdays, holidays, businesses, and more.
When you check out, note the locations that you'd like to be featured on the map and the icon(s) you want to mark them. Customers frequently choose hearts, houses, stars, and initials, but if you'd like something else (bikes, dogs, cats, logos, etc.) I'm happy to work with you to make it perfect. I love knowing why you're buying the map so I can include little gifts, notes, and sometimes extra wrapping paper, so feel free to tell me the story.
Some FAQs:
How many addresses can I mark with icons?
The maps usually look best with 1-4 icons, but I'm happy to do as many as you'd like! If they don't all fit into the 8x10", we'll work together to figure what looks best.
Can I choose an address anywhere in Philly?
Yup! And, now you can choose just about any address in the world. As long as I can find it on a map, I can laser cut it.
How long does it take to make them?
From start to delivered product, it's about 10-14 days. If you need it sooner, let me know and I'll do my best to bump it up in the queue.
Can I pick it up?
Yes! Starting Fall 2019, you can pick-up your maps from our storefront at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia. If you choose to pick it up, I'll send you a note when it's finished and we can coordinate a pick-up time that falls within our hours of operation.
Can I see a proof?
Sure! After you've completed checkout, let me know you'd like a proof.
How's it wrapped?
Good question! The map is gift-ready. It's wrapped in a handmade screen print of the city (thanks Awesome Dudes printing). The photo above shows the most recent wrapping paper (I like to change up the design every once in a while).
Can I get the maps framed?
I don't offer a framing option, at least not yet. These are standard sizes so they'll fit into lots of different frames. I recommend using a shadowbox, but they also look beautiful with a traditional matte + frame. If you don't mind big box stores, these look great in frames from Ikea. Or, you can hang it using small nails at each corner for the map to rest on, and one in the middle to hold it against the wall.
What color are they? Can I get them stained or painted?
They're a light beige with some striations due to the wood. Because these are a natural, unfinished wood there will be some variation in color from the pics above. I don't offer other colors at the moment, but it's certainly an easy DIY project.
Yum! What is that smell?
Hah! That means you've probably opened the package. The maps are cut on a lasercutter, which burns them using a laser. They'll smell like a delicious campfire for a couple of months.
Wait... I have so many more questions!!
I'm happy to answer all of them so send me an Etsy conversation and we'll talk.
