Unmounted insects are any insects that I don't have to prepare for you, so it's pretty much everything in my shop except for prepared ("spread") butterflies and jewelry. Papered butterflies and even laminated butterflies are fine for the discount. 2) Insects sold as A Quality will be in that condition generally. However, due to the numbers of specimens involved these species won't be as carefully checked for quality and one may find occasional imperfections. Contact me for the code

This listing is for one real Callicore eunomia "88" butterfly, ready for your DIY project. From Peru. Wingspan is about 1-1.5 inches. So called the "88" butterfly, because you can see two number 8s on the lower back wings. Many people display the back side, although the front is pretty too. The first picture here shows the BACK side of the species you will receive, and the second picture shows the FRONT. The other three photos are here to describe the available methods of preparation:

Please select whether you'd like the butterfly spread, unmounted/papered, or laminated (wings only). Descriptions follow:
"Spread" means I have opened the wings for you. All you have to do is glue into your project.
"Unmounted/Papered" means I have done nothing. The butterfly is in it's collection envelope, with its wings folded up, as pictured in the example shown in the last photo here. This is an option for people who know how to spread their own specimens. Want to learn how? I sell a Butterfly Spreading Kit in my shop!
"Wings Laminated" means that I have removed the wings from the body and have laminated them separately for you.
Please see the last three photos in this listing for pictorial examples of the above preparations.

To glue into your project (for example, into a shadowbox frame), just use some Elmer's school glue, or whatever you have lying around. No special tools required. Tweezers for handling might make the job easier.

My butterflies come from farmed sources and are not taken from the wild. I cannot guarantee intact antennae on spread specimens, as they are just too fragile.
