Alpaca fleece is hypoallergenic as it does not contain lanolin, meaning it does not irritate your skin, it is also anti-microbial, anti-fungal and dust mite resistant, other benefits include water repellency and odour reduction, it offers 85% greater wicking capability than merino wool. The alpaca fibre used to create this yarn is untreated, which means that it is only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment prior to the dyeing. This highlights the fiber’s natural properties, while it also provides a better shape and texture quality.
DROPS Alpaca is spun from 3 strands with an extra twist to provide a durable surface, and it’s available in many colours, from the vibrant to the more subdued. Solid, uncoloured eco, natural and mixed tones. The last are manufactured by carding the colours together before spinning, which gives it a mix effect.
Garments made in this yarn are lightweight and comfortable, super soft directly on the skin, and have a nice characteristic sheen.

About Alpaca:
Long ago, alpaca fiber was reserved for royalty. Because of its soft texture, alpaca fiber is sometimes compared to cashmere. The fiber also has the luster of silk, making it even more coveted. In comparison to sheep’s wool, alpaca fibre is lighter and warmer, creating a product that keeps you comfortable without weighing you down. Having lived for thousands of years in the high-altitude Andes, the alpaca has developed a coat that keeps it warm in the harsh freezing winters while simultaneously keeping it cool under the scorching summer sun. This gives its fiber a rare combination of qualities to make it as efficient as possible. Alpaca fiber is a natural insulator, making its cloth one of the warmest weatherproof fabrics on the market. It also allows for breathability in warmer climates, and the cloth is extremely lightweight. This multi-functionality makes an alpaca fiber product perfect for every climate; whether you live in the colder regions of Canada, the unpredictable Northeastern United States, or anywhere else across the globe, these pieces will adapt to your every need!
Alpaca fiber is water, wind, and stain resistant. When wearing an alpaca scarf, you won’t feel the wind, and the rain will take a long time to penetrate the garment. It is also hypoallergenic, because, unlike wool, it doesn’t contain lanolin. This makes it the perfect product for those with sensitive skin, even those who are allergic to normal wool. Finally, the strength and durability that come from resisting the harsh Andean altitude make alpaca fiber dependable. It resists stretching and keeps its original shape more easily than other fibers, so you can expect a piece made from alpaca to become a family heirloom that will last for generations.

ABOUT US:
It all started with the memory of the sweaters my grandma made for me when I was a child. They are not just sweaters, they are her loving touch in every stitch.
One day I picked up a pair of knitting needles and a ball of yarn and everything fell into place.
Love is an action, love is patience and I’m at my happiest when I have a new project in mind.
When I see the spark in my mother’s eyes when she strokes the blanket I made for her or the excitement on my son's face when he wakes up to a new hat and scarf set and the pride when he shows them off to everyone saying “mummy made them for me!”.. this makes my enjoyment in creating and making even more meaningful.
My passion for creating led to my passion in yarn, and I want to share that with you. It brings me joy knowing that I have inspired the creations that will be enjoyed by you and your loved ones for a long time.
I brought together a thoughtfully selected collection of natural fibre yarn. Every single one was tested over and over to earn its place in my store. You will only find the best yarn here, that’s a promise.
I’m blessed to be surrounded by this wonderful maker community. I am amazed and awed by your creations and your support has allowed me to be a present mother in my young son's life. For that I am eternally grateful.
Love,
Dan xx
