Bay leaves are a wonderful addition to wreaths, floral décor, potpourri and other craft projects.
Bay leave stems will keep fresh for a few weeks if you place them in a vase of water. They look amazing in floral arrangements and you can use these as vase filler for wedding arrangements or other events.
Bay leaves can be used fresh or dried for their distinctive flavor and fragrance for soups, stews, pasta sauces, roasts (especially Pork) and lots of other dishes.

Branches are cut at approx at 1 ft.
Quantity of leaves on each branch will vary.
We cut the branch the same day or the day before they are shipped. They are washed, air-dried, packed & shipped within 2 days.
We do not use pesticides / chemicals in our garden.
Drying leaves: There are a few ways to dry herbs for cooking.
The branches can be bunched and secured at the stem with string or a rubber band. Cut a small hole in the bottom of a paper bag and pull the top of the bunch (or string) thru the hole to protect the leaves from dust while drying. Hang in a dark and dry area until dry and then remove the leaves from the branches and store in airtight containers.
Or---remove the leaves from their branches and simply place them on a paper towel, in a single layer, and then cover with another paper towel. Place in a dark and dry area such as a pantry or cabinet for a few weeks, then, once dry, place them in an air tight container.
Note: Once the leaves are removed from the branches... you can burn the dried branches in the fireplace for their aromatic qualities. Nice!

Thank you for the lovely bundle of branches. They are much larger than expected and while a couple of them had a bit of funk (I don't know if that's normal for homegrown bay) going on, the rest look lovely to cook with as well as hang up on the wall where they are now.
